How to use the free currency converter
Type an amount, choose the currency you have and the currency you want, and the result updates instantly as you type. Use the ⇄ swap button to reverse the pair — for example from Saudi Riyal to Pakistani Rupee (SAR to PKR) or from PKR back to SAR. The most-searched Gulf and South Asian currencies — SAR, PKR, AED, USD, GBP, EUR, INR, KWD, QAR, OMR and BHD — are pinned at the top of the list, followed by every other world currency in alphabetical order.
Riyal to PKR, Dirham to INR and more
Millions of expatriates in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain send money home to Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and the Philippines every month. The quick table below the converter shows what one unit of your base currency is worth in the most popular currencies, so you can check the riyal to rupee rate at a glance before visiting an exchange house or using a remittance app.
Where do the rates come from?
Exchange rates are loaded directly in your browser from free public, open-access rate feeds (ExchangeRate-API open access, with a community currency API as a backup) and are cached on your device for a few hours so the page works fast and even offline. The "last updated" time shows when the source last refreshed its rates. Rates are mid-market reference rates and are typically updated once a day.
Important note
Banks, exchange houses and transfer services add a margin or fee, so the rate you receive may differ from the mid-market rate shown here. Use this tool for information and planning only — it is not financial advice. Arabic (العربية) and Urdu (اردو) interfaces are available from the language menu.
Worked example: how to calculate SAR to PKR yourself
Suppose the converter shows that 1 SAR equals R Pakistani rupees. To convert 1,500 SAR, multiply: 1,500 × R. To go the other way (PKR to SAR), divide the rupee amount by R. If an exchange house quotes a rate that is lower than the mid-market rate shown here, the difference multiplied by your amount is roughly the hidden margin you are paying — for example, a gap of 1 rupee per riyal on 1,500 SAR costs you about 1,500 rupees. The same method works for SAR to INR, AED to INR, AED to PKR or any other pair.
Frequently asked questions
Is this currency converter free?
Yes. It is completely free, needs no sign-up and has no limits. The site is supported by ads.
Why is my bank or remittance app rate different?
This tool shows mid-market reference rates. Banks, exchange houses and transfer apps add a margin and sometimes a fixed fee, so the amount your family receives is usually a little lower. Always compare the final received amount, not just the headline rate.
How often are the rates updated?
The free rate sources usually refresh once a day. The "last updated" line under the result shows when the rates were last published, and rates are cached in your browser for a few hours.
Can I use it in Urdu or Arabic?
Yes. Choose اردو (Urdu) or العربية (Arabic) from the language menu to switch the interface.
Does it work offline?
After one successful load, the last rates are kept on your device, so the converter keeps working for a while even without internet. Reconnect to refresh the rates.
